Visiting the Department
We're proud of our outstanding programs and hope you've found useful information on our website. Now, come see for yourself. We welcome prospective students and their families, returning alumni and professionals year-round. Champaign-Urbana is easily reached via most forms of transportation. If you contact us in advance, we'll be happy to arrange an informational meeting or a tour of our facilities. Alumni should contact the Department's Development Office (217-333-1611). Prospective employers may contact the office of the Head of the Department (217-333-0176).
Prospective Undergraduate Students
To arrange a visit, please contact the Campus Visitors' Center (217-333-0824). All departmental visits for prospective undergraduates must be arranged through the Visitors' Center. General information sessions and campus tours are also offered through the Visitor's Center.

Traveling By Car
From Chicago - O'Hare International Airport
Take I-294 S (Tri-State Tollway) to I-80 W, follow I-80 W to I-57 S. Follow Directions Below.
From Chicago - Downtown
Take I-90 / I-94 S (Dan Ryan Expressway) to I-57 S. Follow Directions Below.
From Chicago - Midway Airport
Take SR-50 (Cicero Ave.) South to I-57 S. ramp at 167th St. Follow Directions Below.
From North
Follow I-57 south from Chicago to Urbana-Champaign (approximately 110 miles). Exit at I-72 E (exit 235-A). I-72 becomes University Avenue. Take University Avenue to Sixth Street (approximately 4 miles). Turn right at Sixth Street. Drive south on Sixth Street until you reach Lorado Taft Drive (approximately .7 miles). Turn left onto Lorado Taft Drive. Temple Hoyne Buell Hall is straight ahead (to the right of the bell tower). Please note: most parking close to our building is by permit only on weekdays. Limited metered parking is available on Taft Drive directly in front of the Architecture Building and on Sixth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Be careful where you park. Parking regulations are strictly enforced.
From South
Take I-57 north and exit at the Curtis Road East Exit (exit 232). Follow Curtis Road east to First Street (approximately 3.5 miles). Turn left on First Street (four-way stop sign). Continue north on First Street until you reach Kirby Avenue (approximately 2 miles). Turn right onto Kirby Avenue. Continue east on Kirby Avenue until you reach Fourth Street (first stop light). Turn left onto Fourth Street. Drive north on Fourth Street until you reach Pennsylvania Avenue (first right). Turn right onto Pennsylvania Avenue. Continue to the end of the block and turn left onto Sixth Street (three-way stop sign). Drive north until you reach Lorado Taft Drive. Turn right onto Lorado Taft Drive. Take I-74 W to Champaign-Urbana. Take the Lincoln Avenue Exit south (exit 183). Continue south on Lincoln Avenue until you reach Pennsylvania Avenue (approximately 2.5 miles). Turn right onto Pennsylvania Avenue. Continue west on Pennsylvania Avenue until you reach Sixth Street (approximately 0.5 miles). Turn right onto Sixth Street. Drive north on Sixth Street until you reach Lorado Taft Drive and turn right (approximately 0.2 miles). Temple Hoyne Buell Hall is straight ahead (just to the right of the bell tower). Lodging
If you will be staying overnight, there are many lodging options in the Champaign-Urbana area. Accommodations may be unavailable during weekends with major campus or athletic events. More information is available from the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce.
