All students in landscape architecture apply their accumulated knowledge of construction, history, plant materials, site engineering, behavior and ecology in the studio. Students in the graduate program also prepare a thesis grounded in the specialized focus of their program and demonstrating a broad understanding of the research, exploration, and execution of design works. Faculty are themselves involved in a wide range of practice modes, from scholarship resulting in articles and books, to organization of exhibits and conferences, to practice in collaboration with architects, landscape architects, museum curators and others.
