Faculty update: Laura Lawson At Rutgers University
Conspicuously absent from the Landscape Architecture Department this fall is Professor Laura Lawson. Beginning August 2010, she is the new Chair for the Landscape Architecture Department at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Lawson is the winner of the 2010 Great Places Book Award, as well as the College of Fine and Applied Arts Award of Excellence for Service, for her past leadership of ESLARP. Lawson is also a popular professor who has provided encouragement and enthusiasm to countless Landscape Architecture students for the past eight years. Her energy, scholarship, and thoughtful feedback will be missed by her students and colleagues. Many have benefited from her teaching at the University of Illinois. We wish her every success and happiness as she takes this next step in her career. As she reminds us, “I’m never more than an e-mail away.”
