Fall 2010
This year’s convocation ceremony was held, as is traditional, at Robert Allerton Park and Retreat Center in Monticello, Illinois on May 15th. Due to the rainy weather, the ceremony was shifted indoors. This year’s graduating class included one PhD student, the third to receive this honor in the ten years the degree has been offered by the LA department. There were also thirteen master’s degrees and twenty-two bachelor’s degrees awarded.
Guests of the department included Michael Andrejasich (Associate Dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts) and FASLA president Gary Scott, who delivered an inspirational commencement address to the graduates. Other speeches included a moving speech by Clare Johnson on behalf of the senior class as well as an equally poignant speech by Trisha Hurst, who spoke for the graduate students.
Following the ceremony was a reception and pictorial retrospective held in the library.
Congratulations class of 2010!
