Cultural Heritage Design Concentration

This concentration focuses on cultural heritage landscape issues.  It emphasizes landscape history, preservation, and heritage management.  M.L.A. students in this concentration will work with graduate students in the Department of Anthropology.

LA 438 Design Workshop Studio (5 credit hours)
LA 450 Ecology for Land Restoration (4 credit hours)
LA 470 Social/Cultural Design Issues (3 credit hours)
LA 501 Landscape Architecture Theory and Practice (2 credit hours)
LA 565 Design/Behavior Studio (6 credit hours)
LA 599 Thesis Research Seminar (2 credit hours)
LA 594 Cultural Heritage Topics (2-4 credit hours)
LA 599 Thesis Workshop (5 credit hours)
LA 599 Thesis Production (1 credit hour)
----- One 400- or 500-level history course (in addition to LA 513), students may select LA 515, LA 218 (taken as LA 590), LA 218 (taken as LA 590), or other course approved by the Cultural Heritage Committee
ANTH 460 Heritage Management (methods, 4 credit hours)
